A 14-year-old boy is dead after being stabbed to death in New York City, according to multiple reports.

The teenager was stabbed in the abdomen during a fight involving a large group outside a McDonald’s in Queens, N.Y., at around 3:30 p.m. local time on Friday, Feb. 14, ABC 7 New York, CBS News and NBC New York reported, citing police.

The victim, whose identity has not been shared, was initially in critical condition, before being transported to the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the reports.

Two potential suspects were taken into custody for questioning, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) said, per CBS News. One of the suspects was described as a male wearing all black, ABC 7 New York reported.

No arrests have been made, according to the outlets. The investigation remains ongoing.

The NYPD did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Saturday, Feb. 15.

A witness who saw the incident told CBS News, “A group of maybe, like, 15, 20 kids in ski masks pull up on another group of kids. It was just hectic. They were screaming and cursing at each other and all that. They were definitely going after someone.”

A resident in the area added to the outlet that “a lot kids hang out at the McDonald’s” with “[no]where to go.”

Police found a knife, which is believed to have been the weapon used, left in the street after the incident, CBS News reported.
