The deal that ripped Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks’ fan base and sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers has a strong case for being the most shocking trade in sports history.

That makes this an ideal time to launch the latest edition of his signature sneaker. Jordan Brand has officially unveiled the Luka 4 and Luka .77. The latter draws inspiration from Doncic’s childhood, first honing his craft on the outdoor courts of Slovenia.

The Luka .77 will be available for purchase starting Apr. 8. It has a retail price of $100. ‘Space Navigator’ will be among the colorways offered.

The Luka 4 also has a release date of Apr. 8 and is priced at $130. The colorways range from ‘Bloodline’ to ‘Space Navigator’ and ‘Gone Fishing.’

As Doncic starts his new chapter, he is poised to become the face of the NBA’s most glamorous franchise. The Jordan Brand launched this clever commercial as the five-time All-NBA First Team selection prepared to face the team he accomplished that with for the first time.

Despite the aggressive coverages repeatedly sent his way by his former head coach, Jason Kidd, Doncic registered a triple-double. He finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists. The five-time All-Star’s stat-sheet-stuffing performance also included three steals and two blocks, helping the purple and gold prevail, 107-99 on their home floor.

Doncic most recently led the Lakers to a 107-96 victory vs. the Phoenix Suns. Last season’s scoring champion put a game-high 33 points on the board. His 11 rebounds were also the most among all participants in Sunday’s matchup in Los Angeles. Doncic’s eight assists were a team-best, and his two steals tied Austin Reaves for the most by a member of the hosts.

While the Lakers await the return of LeBron James, who is working his way back from a groin injury, they are 41-25 and fifth in the Western Conference standings. With 16 games remaining on their schedule, the purple and gold are only one game behind the occupants of the second seed in the West, the Houston Rockets.

At a minimum, securing home-court advantage for at least one round of the playoffs will help James, Doncic, and Co. enjoy as extended of a stay in the postseason as possible.
