Glenn Close’s daughter, Annie Starke, shared a photo of herself recreating a heartwarming family pregnancy photo.

In an Instagram carousel shared in honor of International Women’s Day on Saturday, March 8, the 36-year-old actress posted a throwback photo of her mother and grandma. In the photo, Close is visibly pregnant, baring her belly as she sits on a sofa next to her mother.

In the next photo, a pregnant Starke can be seen in a parallel image — taken more than 35 years later — sitting beside Close, 77, on a sofa.

“This #internationalwomensday hits a bit different this year. 💙” she captioned the post, before telling followers to swipe to see her own “enormous” baby bump in “a recreation of a classic family pic.”

She added: “To allllllll the Mamas… 😘.”

Starke, who is married to businessman Marc Albu, announced the birth of their first child in an Instagram post on Feb. 14, revealing that they welcomed a son named Rory a week earlier.

“Rory Westaway Albu… born Feb. 7th, 2025… and we’ll never be the same,” she captioned the post, which featured a black-and-white photo of the newborn. “We love you so much, sweet boy.”

Starke is the only child of Close and ex-partner, movie producer John Starke. She was raised outside of the Hollywood limelight in Bedford, N.Y., about an hour north of Manhattan.

“I had a profoundly normal childhood,” Starke told PEOPLE in August 2018. “I’m a little boring. I was a barefoot kid, outdoorsy, never had siblings, but I had cats and dogs, and really surrounded by nature. I credit my parents for keeping me grounded and keeping it normal. I still have my oldest friends since high school. It was a wonderful place to grow up.”

After receiving her degree in art history from Hamilton College, Starke decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue the performing arts — despite having reservations about the film industry.

“I went to college fully hoping I would pursue something else because I know how tough [this industry] is. Not only professionally but also personally — I knew the good and the bad, the crazy and the ugly,” she told Grumpy Magazine in 2021. “But I knew what I wanted to do my whole life. [Being an actress] was always something that I just knew.”

Starke — who has since appeared in New York stage productions and on television — has also worked alongside her mother, playing the younger version of Close in the Oscar-nominated film The Wife

Close revealed that she let her daughter take the creative lead on the character while speaking to PEOPLE about the project in 2018.

“I actually said [to Starke], ‘You’re the one who has to lay down the character. You play the young Joan,” Close said at the time. “So whatever you do in the flashbacks has everything to do with how I am later.’ ”

Starke added: “We really worked hard on this character and put a lot of our souls into. I had to go super deep for this one.”
