Calilo
Calilo, a luxurious boutique resort on the Greek Island of Ios, leaned into love for the hotel’s design. Owner Angelos Michalopoulos designed the property, which has marble and stone-granite rooms and bathrooms with phrases like “Love” and “Joy” etched into stone-covered walls. There’s also a few different heart-shaped pools overlooking the secluded Pappas Beach, like the Rock Pools available to guests staying at the resort, as well as artistic heart pools available to guests in the Summer Hope Suite and the Alpha Love Suite.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs
Hot springs are bubbling throughout Colorado, and one of the most unique places to soak is at Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs, where pools at different temps and consisting of different mineral blends overlook the Colorado River.
Spend a few hours hot springs hopping between the pools in the WorldSprings adults-only area. The heart-shaped pool’s mineral blend is inspired by the Vichy Waters of France, and, according to the Iron Mountain team that researched bathing traditions worldwide, the Gallo-Romans indulged in rejuvenating soaks in the Vichy Waters as early as the 3rd century A.D.

In the Algarve region of Portugal, a scenic overlook above Praia da Marinha makes it look as though there’s rocks rising above the water to form a heart shape. This is a bit of an illusion, but it makes for a romantic backdrop of a photo. To find the “heart-shaped” rocks, you can park at the lot above the beach and take the Seven Hanging Valleys hiking trail to the scenic overlook.
With gorgeous warm-toned cliffs and gentle waters for swimming, Praia da Marinha is among the most favored beaches in the Algarves.

There’s also an observation deck that stretches into the lagoon. The Raja Ampat area in West Papua is often on scuba diver’s bucket list because of its exceptional coral reefs teeming with marine life.
